Robert Matzinger's Cycling Karakoram Highway
Pages
After a landslide area in a narrow gorge..
... behind a corner, out of a sudden, there appears the Rakaposhi -
gate-keeper and patron of the Hunza valley.
In this dry, but beautiful valley, which is surround by high Karakoram
peaks, nothing grows without irrigation. Still there lives a happy people,
like these schoolgirls we meet.
The road climbs up and up, soon touching the glaciers...
...and the mountain view can get incredible.
The glaciers belong to the biggest in the world...
... and often the path is hard to find.
It starts getting automn up here and we enjoy walking through the gold-colored vegetation.
