From Kashgar we return by an adventurous journey by bus,...

..., hitch-hiking, ...

... and our cycles.

It's October and we encounter the first snow fall.

We are finally glad to have some rest days in Gilgit.

We cycle up the Indus Valley towards Skardu. It takes us a couple of hard days in the narrow gorge where the Indus is roaring below us. The road's grades are numerous and extremely steep and we have eight flats on one day alone.

This typical fragile-looking rope bridge is a farmers connection to the road.

After four days of narrowness the Skardu desert opens up in front of us.

Some days later, having marvelous weather, an incredible flight around Nanga Parbat takes us to Islamabad and finally home.

The End
